We’ve finished voluminous analysis of regional flexible packaging market.
Client's object: extension of market share in definitive region of Russia. The chief task of the analysis: definition of the optimal assortment and price offer, which might be competitive in the region Period of analysis: 2003-2005 гг. Sources for analysis: detailed survey of 15 manufactors and 70 consummators of flexible package of the region, information from opened sources (Media, Internet), databases Time of execution: 2 months Volume of report: 72 pages. Main conclusions: Commodity. In the beginning of 90-s the main polymers used for flexible packaging production were polyethylene, polypropylene, sometimes polyamide and polyvinylidene chloride. In present the considerable part in packaging raw materials reserves by stretch and thermocontractable (more than 50% of the analyzed region), and also by polypropylene / polyethylene films. Insensibly multi-layer films take on special significance here. Among the main tendencies of commodity’s development we can mention the following: the complication of composition of polymer packaging, the augmentation of the role of dye printing (especially flexography). Suppliers. Besides the biggest Russian manufactors and representatives of international corporations, there is a number of local suppliers in regions, that have their patrons, and, usually, old traditional technologies. The connections between the customer and supplier are not strong; overwhelming majority of customers treat the price as a main criterion of supply agreement. In some cases (especially for meat-processing industry) the main criterion is conformity with definitive technical characteristics. The other criterions for the changing of supplier are: location of supplier and term of delivery. Prominent supplies are usually provided by several suppliers; such a way allows also avoiding a failure in deliveries. In general the market emerges continuously, and this fact is connected directly with an increase of consumption of flexible packaging in region. Consummators.
